Vincenza Bellomo (1935–2023)

Vincenza Bellomo (nee Moramarco), 88, of Rockville Centre, NY, died on December 27, 2023.

Vincenza was born in Gravina in Puglia, Italy, in 1935 to Stefano Moramarco and Teresa Barbone. She was the youngest of her surviving siblings: Cherubina, Vitalina, Giovanni, Filomena, Celestina and Elisa.

Vincenza was introduced to Salvatore Bellomo, from Brooklyn, NY. They married in Gravina on May 4, 1964 and moved to Brooklyn shortly thereafter. They had three children, John, Maria and Stephen, and then moved to Whitestone, NY. She was a long-time parishioner and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at St. Luke's in Whitestone before moving to West Hempstead, NY in 2008.

Vincenza's family meant the world to her and she treasured her time with her eight grandchildren: Stephanie, Jenna, Boaz, Noam, Andrew, Paige, Lauren and Itamar.

Vincenza was happily married to Salvatore for 54 years until his passing in 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her three children, son-in-law Frank, daughters-in-law Doreen and Tina, and her grandchildren.

Vincenza will be waked on Friday, December 29, from 4 to 8 pm at Thomas A. Glynn & Son Funeral Home, 20 Lincoln Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY 11570. The funeral mass is on Saturday, December 30, at 10 am at St. Thomas the Apostle, 24 Westminster Road, West Hempstead, NY 11552.
