Obituary

Nathan C. Allen, of Rockville Centre, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026, surrounded by his family.


Nathan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Alicia; his son, Jeffrey; his daughters, Dana and Sera; his sister, Sheri Cheatham; his grandchildren, Cheyenne, Shane, Natalia, and Gianino; his great-grandson, Freddy; and his buddy and fur baby, Olive Juice.


Born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 9, 1943, to Nathan N. Allen and Dorothy Williams, Nathan was affectionately known as "Butch," a nickname given to him by his mother. At the age of 22, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served as a Military Police Officer. Following his military service, Nathan embarked on a distinguished career with the New York City Police Department. As a member of the Intelligence Division, he rose to the rank of Detective First Grade before retiring in 2003 after 34 years of dedicated service to his city and community.


Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Dorothy; his brother, James Cheatham and his grandparents, Leonard and Sarah Williams, who lovingly raised him.


Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Thomas A. Glynn & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 7:00–9:00 PM.


A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Ascension in Rockville Centre.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Ascension, 71 North Village Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY 11570.


Nathan will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country and community, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him.
