The OBITUARY
"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." Farewells are always sad. Today, we feel a very deep loss; however, we realize God Almighty never makes mistakes. On December 8th, 1938, Eddie Louis Williamson was born in Blanche, North Carolina to the late James Williamson and the late Enza Swann Williamson. At the age of 80, he entered into eternal rest on December 30th, 2018 at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, New York. At a young age, Eddie was taught by his father the importance of learning a skill and working hard in order to earn a living. In 1962, he enlisted in the United States Army where he became an expert in using the Rifle M-1 and earned a Parachutist Badge. Eddie received an honorable discharge from the military. Thereafter, Eddie returned to Rockville Centre, New York. He worked in the food industry, landscaping and construction. Eddie was employed by the McLeod Company for numerous years until his retirement. Eddie enjoyed using his mechanic skills by working on automobiles. He rather enjoyed spending time with family, especially teaching his nieces and nephews how to ride bicycles, roller skate, play basketball, football and "box-n-duck" aka fight…lol. Those left to celebrate his life and fond memories is his loving daughter Lisa Monique Smith, son Tyrone Williamson, granddaughter Taisha Smith; two great grandson Jakhi and Jaheim; stepmother Addie "Jackie" Williamson, five sisters; Edith, Bonnie (Don), Jeannette, Estelle and Amy; sister in law Willie; aunts, Charlotte Swann and Alma Bennie James (Dawn), Sylvia Nadine Logan, Special friends, Raymond Bryant, Lilly, Bruce, Jerrie Smith and a host of nieces and nephews.
