Charles W. McNamara, 81, of New York City and Hampton Bays LI died on Sunday, November 1, 2015 after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of more than 55 years, Nina McNamara; his four children Colleen Murphy, Tammy McNamara and her husband Peter Critsimilios, Cathy McNamara, and Tim McNamara along with his wife Natalia McNamara; and three much adored grandchildren; Lily Perkins, Shane Murphy, and Andrea McNamara. He is also survived by his sister Teresa Kitson of Rockville Centre. A patriot, he served his country in Korea. A dedicated employee he retired after more than 20 years of service to the LIRR, where he developed lasting friendships with his colleagues. A truly good human being, his kindness to all people and animals and his good humor will be missed by all who knew him. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Thomas A. Glynn & Son Funeral Home in Rockville Centre. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Mary's of the Isle R.C. Church Long Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to his favorite charity Smile Train.
